Emergency Medical Technician Program
(accelerated)

Based on the National Department of Transportation standards, the Accelerated EMT-B class is identical to a regular format EMT-B class in terms of content and certification.  The class is compressed into a two week time frame for those students for whom our three month format is impractical.  The format is particularly well suited for students coming in from out of state, from within Indian but outside a convenient commute radius or for those who simply need a faster turnaround time than is offered by the three month course.

Prerequisites:

CPR - You must be certified in a qualifying CPR course prior to starting your EMT class. Following is a list of qualifying cards.  You may obtain your card by coming in for our AHA CPR for Healthcare Providers class on the Saturday before your EMT class starts if none is available in your area.

  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider

  • American Red Cross Professional Rescuer

  • ASHI Professional Rescuer (CPR Pro)

  • National Safety Council Professional Rescuer

  • Military Healthcare Provider-Equivalent CPR Card

Residence:

You do not need to be a resident of Indiana to take this course however if you are seeking state certification outside the state of Indiana, please contact your state EMS commission for information regarding your state's reciprocity process.  The National Registry of EMTs has a very helpful map for this purpose located here.

Classroom Hours:
  • Approximately 130 hours over two weeks - The class starts at 9:00am on Sunday morning and runs for 14 consecutive days including weekends.  On the fourteenth day, your practical exam will be administered here at Pelham Training.  We cannot guarantee a finish time for the practical exam so if you are flying home, we recommend you not plan your return flight until Sunday morning following your test day.
  • Daily - 9 am to 7 pm
Clinical Rotations:
  • Emergency Department Observation:     8.0 Hours

  • Ambulance Observation:                       8.0 Hours

Equipment and Supplies:
  • All practice equipment provided by Pelham Training.

Course Prices are listed on the Registration Form

If you have questions, need further information or assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us in whatever way is most convenient for you.

After successful completion of this program you will be eligible to take either the State of Indiana or the National Registry written examination. The National Registry certification is recognized throughout the United States.  Specific details will be given in class.

Check the calendar for an upcoming course.

If you would like to enroll, please fill out the Registration form as soon as possible and follow the directions to submit it.

We look forward to seeing you in class!
